Storing Exercise Data – Carry Your Personal Trainer With You |

October 02, 2005 By: Randy Smith Storing Exercise Data – Carry Your Personal Trainer With YouSCIFIT® Ltd. Co. has acquired the exclusive rights to the patented Cardio-Key® wireless exercise protocol technology. Designed as a simple key that can be carried on a user's key chain, Cardio-Key® is capable of storing both training protocols and compliance for multiple exercise sessions. It can be customized for each individual, and serves as a powerful link between any SCIFIT® cardio piece, the member and the trainer. The benefits to both the member and the club owner are significant, says SCIFIT® Marketing VP Denton Smith. From a member perspective, Cardio-Key® is like having a personal trainer available whenever its convenient for the member. Because the member's unique training protocol is stored on his or her Cardio-Key®, the availability of the personal trainer at workout time is less critical. With individual time at a minimum, and more and more clubs placing fitness equipment in satellite locations (for example, at a corporate site, or in smaller neighborhood facilities), Cardio-Key® let's a user workout whenever and wherever he wants. That same benefit means club owners can maximize the efficiency and effectiveness of their personal trainer by allowing the trainer to serve more people in less time. Club owners also benefit from the marketing aspects of Cardio-Key®, says Smith. This product can be a powerhouse when it comes to member retention, he explains. Or, if a club chooses not to include Cardio-Key® as a part of membership, it can be an additional revenue source. Cardio-Key® gives club owners a strong competitive edge. Cardio-Key® is now available as the protocol/compliance system for SCIFIT®'s 30-minute fitness program, Fit-Quik®. The company expects to have Cardio-Key® available by mid-year as a comprehensive protocol system for its full product line, which includes treadmills, upright and recumbent bikes, elliptical walkers, upper and all body ergometers, and climbers.
