July 02, 2005 By: Randy Smith Smooth Elliptical Trainer – Life Fitness Introduces Good Value Fitness EquipmentLife Fitness, the world’s leading supplier of fitness equipment, has launched an innovative brand of home fitness equipment in the UK, offering exercisers the very highest quality at an affordable price. The Life Fitness “Sport” range includes two upright and two recumbent bikes, two folding treadmills and a total-body elliptical Cross-Trainer. The range has a dynamic new design, is easy to use, and has a wide variety of programmes to help users achieve their exercise goals. The Life Fitness Sport range bikes come in self-powered and plug-in models. The SU30 and SR30 have 16 resistance levels and six programmes. The SU70 and SR70 have 20 levels of resistance, built-in heart rate sensors and ten workout programmes including EZ Resistance, Sport Training and a number of heart rate training options. Further software features include ‘on the fly’ programming which allows riders to conveniently switch from one workout to another at any point during their exercise session without losing the accumulated data such as time, calories or distance. The Cool Down Mode ensures users’ heart rates gradually return to a normal level after a workout. The Life Fitness machines have a hard-wearing, multi-piece crank which provides an incredibly smooth, reliable ride, while the unique Poly V belt drive system ensures a quiet one, so the bikes can be used without disturbing others. All of the bikes feature an integrated reading rack for use while cycling and are equipped with front roller wheels enabling the bike to be moved quickly and easily into position. A first for Life Fitness is the introduction of two folding treadmills to its consumer collection. Perfect for space-constrained homes, the ST35 and ST55 can be folded for convenient storage when not required. Unlike most other folding treadmills, these machines retain the patented, sturdy Life Fitness design and cushioning that delivers a solid and safe performance. The substantial running surface measures 19.5 inches by 54 inches, and the powerful 2.0hp Leeson motor system allows users to run at speeds of up to ten miles per hour. Both treadmills have a variety of pre-programmed workouts to help exercisers remain interested and motivated when working out. There are ten incline levels, six standard workouts and three goal-based programmes. The ST55 also has memory to customise two workouts and a sophisticated telemetry heart rate monitoring system, which automatically adjusts the incline or speed to keep users in their target heart rate zone, ensuring both a safe and effective workout. Reflecting the growing popularity of cross-training, the Life Fitness Sport range also includes the SX30 total-body elliptical machine. Featuring 16 levels of resistance and six workout profiles, the SX30 is ideal for exercisers of all abilities. The ergonomic design mimics the body’s natural movements, helping to maintain good form and reducing the likelihood of injury. The patented Link6 mechanism and Poly V belt-drive system ensure a smooth, quiet ride while performing this highly effective low impact exercise. About
